Ibiza with family

Ibiza is an ideal destination to enjoy with children of all ages. It not only has e beautiful coves and beaches, it is biodiversity, it is culture and it is gastronomy.

Did you know that it is also a World Heritage Site?

The UNESCO Declaration of 1999 includes the Historic Center of the island's capital, Dalt Vila, the archaeological sites of Puig des Molins and Sa Caleta and much of the unique maritime and terrestrial ecosystem of the island that makes these coves and beaches so crystal clear.

What to do?

We present several family friendly plans that can be made:

  1. Enjoy its more than fifty beaches and transparent coves along its small coast.
  2. Visit the historic center of Dalt Vila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a dramatized visit (every Saturday from Ibiza Town Hall in high season).
  3. Visit the necropolis Puig des molins and its hypogeum, also recognized by UNESCO.
  4. Go to the two famous hippy markets (Punta Arabí, on Wednesdays) and Las Dalias (daytime Saturdays and Monday and Tuesday of June-Sept night market). Do not miss on Wednesday the Namaste party at las Dalias on Wednesdays with many activities and entertainment for children.
  5. Admire the beautiful sunsets from different points of the island and live the different environments, in Platges de Compte (quiet and romantic),in the nice viewpoints of Es Vedrà (magical and energetic), Benirrás (with drums and hippies) Kumharas (with a little market and live shows), Café del Mar (famous worldwide for being the creators of chill out music) or Goldhen Budha (same setting as Café del Mar but with a more local atmosphere and more reasonable prices).
  6. Visit the Natural Park of Ses Salines and waych birds and flamingos (book in advance).
  7. Have an ice cream and stroll through the port of Ibiza to enjoy a good atmosphere, especially on weekends.
  8. Sailing by the sea, you can go to beautiful coves with boats from the port of Sant Antoni or even rent small boats without a license or with a skipper.
  9. Visit the beautiful inland villages such as Santa Agnés, Santa Gertrudis, Sant Carles and Es Cubells (the latter on the edge of a cliff overlooking Formentera).
  10. Attend the church of Sant Miquel on Thursdays to discover why country dance, the folklore of the island is an asset of cultural interest.
  11. Visit the small cave of Can Marçà with its history of pirates that will fascinate the little ones.
  12. Eat a seafood paella on the beach or try the delicious and typical "Bullit de Peix".
  13. Take a day trip to Formentera and swim in Ses Illetes, considered one of the 25 best beaches in the world on TripAdvisor.
  14. Visit the Can Musson ecological farm, participate in its workshops and buy its natural products.
  15. Eat with the locals a typical sardine at the Aquarium and visit for free its small natural aquarium, recovery center of active species.
  16. Make an excursion to a water park like Aquasirenos Games Park or Aguamar.
  17. Visit the ethnographic museum and the fortified church of Puig de Missa in Santa Eulalia.
  18. Enter an adventure park with zip lines and Tibetan bridges in Acrobosc.
  19. Visit the defense tower of La Sal Rossa (by appointment) and discover why the island was so desired by pirates.
  20. Walk up to the viewpoint of Sa Talaia, in Sant Josep to contemplate practically the entire island from the highest mountain in Ibiza.
  21. Practice water sports such as paddle surf, kayak, snorkel...

If you add to this, good weather, green landscapes of pine forests, beautiful cliffs, hiking trails and delicious cuisine, can you think of a more family-friendly destination?

How many days and best time?

As you can see, the plans with children are infinite, the recommended minimum is 5-7 days. The best and cheapest months are May, June, September and October. July and August is the highest and hottest season.

How to move?

The best way to get around it is by car (you can bring your own with Baleària from Denia or Valencia in a couple of hours' drive or rent a car).
But there is public land and sea transport that connects the main tourist attractions and most famous beaches.

Where to stay?
